Slam Dunk final: Minisink Valley 38, Pearl River 35

We have a web update on our website — “a postgame update filed by my colleague Jake.”:http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061229/SPORTS02/612290437

Sounds like a defensive struggle (read: UGLY), but that may be presumptious on my part. I wasn’t there — had to cover the Jets this morning, then file my Saturday notebooks this afternoon — and would love you to clue me in on what happened. If you were there, drop us a line here…

In other action…

— I nailed another prediction almost to the point, as Ursuline beat Lourdes in the Slam Dunk consolation. Again, details would be appreciated.

— I didn’t mention this last night, but Albertus Magnus had a solid 49-34 victory over Maria Regina in the Albertus tourney final to keep the Falcons undefeated.

— Another late update, but Carmel and Mahopac both swept their games over Brewster and Kennedy in the Ronnie Weaver Memorial Tournament at Carmel High school on Wednesday and Thursday.

— At the Yorktown tournament tonight, Greeley beat Yorktown and Lakeland beat New Ro in the semis. Greeley and Lakeland will play in the championship, this just two weeks after they played a league game before Christmas.

Details, details, details. I was MIA at each and every game I mentioned above and would like to hear what you thought…Have a good weekend everyone.
