New state rankings – Jan. 31st

January
31

“Here are the newest state rankings,”:http://www.newyorksportswriters.org/reference/current_polls_bkw_070131.shtml which came out today. Looks like Lakeland, Pearl River, Albertus and Haldane are the only LoHud schools in the rankings.

Like I said earlier in the week, I’m attending tonight’s Pearl River-Albertus game strictly for blogging purposes. My plan is to bring my computer and try something creative. If they have wireless internet I will provide score updates, but don’t count on it (the wireless internet). I’ll more than likely just post when I get home tonight.

SOmething is clearly biased with the “state rankings” 12 teams from section 3 but only 3 from section 1. White Plains not there despite being finalist the last two years and being the number 1 team in section 1. I rest my case. These rankings should be banned.

Isn’t it funny that Lakeland isn’t ranked higher? It must be there weak schedule they play. I know that the Lourdes coach tried to schedule a game against him but he never returned her call!!

Lakeland has the weakest schedule in the area….who have they played besides Scarsdale? If you don’t put more than 1 quality opponent on your schedule, how do you expect to get any respect? Beating teams by 50 doesn’t mean much and how you did in scrimages doesn’t matter to me either. I think the lasting Lakeland image is still 20-0 in the 4th quarter vs. Lourdes last year. White Plains got beat by 10 at Lourdes, a team with 5 loses. How high do you want these teams to be?
