The streak is over

Blind Brook has done it. After losing both of their regular season meetings, the Trojans beat Haldane 57-39.
Blind Brook, the No. 2 seed, snapped Haldane’s streak of consecutive Section 1 championships at 14.
Karlyn Adler led the Trojans with 31 points. She was named the tournament MVP.
Also, I should add that Blind Brook plays its Class C regional semifinal on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at SUNY New Paltz. Millbrook, which beat Haldane last season in the same game, will be the opponent.
Obviously, this is a huge upset. I’ll have more on it later…
*************************************************************
Amazingly, Blind Brook actually added to its lead during the third quarter, and is now ahead 43-24 to begin the fourth.
A colleague of mine just said it and its so true…Haldane almost would need to pull a Lourdes here (20-0 fourth quarter) to win.
Adler still leading the way with 21 for Blind Brook. Shields has 12.
A final later…
***********************************************************
Karlyn Adler has had a great half, scoring 16 points, and has led the Trojans to the lead. But it’s not just her, it’s everyone. Blind Brook has just two turnovers this half, while Haldane has 10.
Brittany Shields has had some open looks – the same shots she always takes – but has been inconsistent. She’s 2 for 9 from the field and 4 for 8 from the line for eight points.
As a team, the Blue Devils have shot 4 for 20.
****************************************************************
Blind Brook came out in a man-to-man defense and, surprisingly, it has Haldane on its heels. The Blue Devils are 2 for 11 from the floor and have four turnovers.
But worst of all – even worse than the score – is that Kylie McConville has three fouls in the first quarter alone.

Did they play against the modified team??Congrats to Coach Manny…you earned it..all those years….GREAT JOB!!!! GOOD LUCK VS MILLBROOK…....
Again…2007-YEAR OF THE UPSETS!
Watch out WP…MV will get you!
Coach Manny….........What does “Dave Sandersen” think of this?
CONGRATULATIONS BLIND BROOK
Congratulations to Coach Manny Martinez for getting this team to play this well on this day against an outstanding Haldane team. Blind Brook was in control from start to finish. To stop their streak in such convincing fashion, well that is a great accomplishment. BB played a near perfect game. On to the regionals!
coach manny was also very un sportsmanlike as he pointed to the scoreboard at the end of the game in response to some haldane fans chants which is totally unacceptable. But you have to gice blind brook credit for absolutely murdering haldane from start to finish. Haldane looked as if they didnt want to play at all and adler was tremendous.
Congrats Blind Brook
manny was completely classless at the end of the game. I’ve heard many negative things about him throughout the season and I never wanted to believe it because he seemed like a nice guy, but I was completely wrong. He needs to check his age and grow up a little. Congrats to Blind Brook, they saw Haldane did not have their heads in the game and took advantage, but try to have some class there Manny.
