Mahopac nickname under fire

August
10

I just wanted to check in with a story I think everyone should read. “Here’s a piece by Jeff Pearlman of ESPN,”:http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=pearlman/070810 a Mahopac grad and former student of my mom, who thinks his alma mater should change its school mascot.

This debate is always ongoing. Ossining obviously dropped its nickname, but a few holdovers remain: Roosevelt, Mahopac, Nyack and Ketcham. What do you think?

  1. Jeff Pearlman

Personally, I think Jeff Pearlman is the best. The best writer, best looker, smart as could be, etc. Everyone should send him large amounts of money, too.

  2. Carmel rooter

They have a few coaches named Jerry now so why not call them “Jerry’s Kids”?

  3. Hoops Brother

    That’s hysterical Carmel rooter!

  4. Scoop Jackson

I wouldn’t change the Carmel nickname, Ramses is fine with me! It reminds me to pick up my monthly supply of condoms!
