Hey everyone. As you probably noticed earlier today, I’m back to work today. Obviously, there’s a lot of ground to cover this week and much less time to do it, so here’s what’s ahead on the blog…
Today:
— A recap of Ursuline-Mount Vernon
— Tonight’s VC Live (7:30 p.m.) with Porsha Postell
— A look at tonight’s scores, with play resuming after the exam break
Tomorrow:
— A few words on league standings as of now
— A recap of Nanuet-Briarcliff
— A look at a busy Friday of action
Saturday:
— The latest Top 10
— A recap of Mount Vernon-Lourdes
— A few nuggets from Saturday’s notebooks
Sunday:
— My pick for a Super Bowl that is about a 7 on a scale of 1 to 100. (Last year was a 122.)
One question before I head out to Ursuline: Is there anything you want to know about? Anything you’d like to hear my thoughts on?
Let me know and I will certainly consider it.

Josh Thomson has done some of everything since joining The Journal News in March 2003. He began working for the Gannett weeklies during the winter of 2002 as a freelance writer. He joined the daily staff soon after and has since covered various high school and pro sports. Away from sportswriting, Josh lives in Westchester and spends his free time either with his wife, Sarah, or expertly managing his various championship-winning fantasy sports teams. He's visited 21 major-league baseball stadiums and insists that Fenway Park and Wrigley Field are the best by far. Josh graduated from Carmel High School in 1998, then went to Boston University, where, in 2002, he received a degree in communications with a minor in history.

What was the score of the Ursuline-MV game?
Ursuline lost by 3, 53-50.
Josh,
Why don’t you do something like what was done on the boys basketball blog and estimate team standings and potential seedings based on teams’ wins and losses per class, etc.?
Josh,
Is there any way you can stop all the over the top player self or parent promotion on the blog? I get tired of reading about how great a year one player is having and then magically she is player of the week.
Nothing against the player, but lets talk about all of the good teams and players.
MV went to NYC and did well – lets hear about the other teams that played at Kennedy – Yorktown, Nanuet, Spring Valley.
