Josh, Remember, when the final seedings are determined certain games will not be factored in. For example, Ursuline’s two wins vs Maria Regina will not count nor will their loss to St. Michael’s. Other schools may have similiar wins/or losses that will not count in the final seeding.
Lou…It is my understanding that all games played in New York state will count this season. For example, Pearl River beat Section 9 Class AA Minisink Valley. The Pirates not only will be credited for their win; they will earn a bonus point for beating a Class AA school. This, of course, is a change from last season.
Josh, You’re right about the games against other teams that play in NYS Public School sections, such as Minisink Valley, Section 9. That’s why Ursuline win against CBA from Syracuse counts, as does their loss to Catholic Central from Albany also counts. Both teams, why they are catholic schools play in their sections. I think that the games against private and Catholic Schools still do not count same as last year when they figure the seedings.
Josh , Just want to say you have done a great job of including everyone in your reports this past week and are showing good signs, You have to learn to use your leads and nt believe them whic I see yuo are doing. I know its hard but you have to trust yourself. GOOD JOB. Greetings from the big show in Tampa
What are the dates of this tournament?
Josh, Thanks alot for showing these playoff seeds that takes a whole lot of schudule surfing, and a whole lot of tine! Are you going to be doing this for all classes as well?
PlayD…
I will post the schedule in a bit.
ool…I’m gathering some info on the other classes. Obviously, the information isn’t as readily available as it was in the past. Hopefully I’ll have them by tomorrow and can post them then.
Is there a score at Albertus?
Josh,
Doesn’t it amaze you that nobody seems 100 percent sure about what games count???NY State teams, NYSPHSAA teams?
Also, some coaches think .500 in league gets you in sectionals and some think its .500 in class or .400 overall.
How can everything not be crystal clear??????/Shouldn’t the preseason hoops meeting have all this printed and distributed to all coaches??
Go CARDS!!!

Josh, we appreciate these seeding updates. It really helps given the delayed boxscore updates in Highschoolsports.net or via Maxpreps makes it very difficult this year to figure out what is happening.

If there is a 3 way tie between ossining, suffern, and arlington (or carmel if they win that hed to head game) who gets the better seed. It seems to me that those three teams will be vying for the 4 5 and 6 seeds. What is formula is used to break that tie…?
Josh,so it’s looking like Ossining girls will play either yorktown or mamaroneck..when do the outbracket start?? and lourdes has a bye in the first round correct??
Again, if anyone has information on the tie-breaker scenario, I would appreciate it. Also just wondering if Dan Ricci is helping to figure out the brackets, does that guarantee him the 4th seed??? Will Arlington, Carmel, and Suffern have a legitimate shot? Carmel and Suffern both won league titles, and Suffern won head to head, does that matter?

So Ossining should drop for having fewest AA wins right, if they are tied with Suffern or other teams.
That sounds good Mike Hoops
My understanding is that if two teams are tied that the first tiebreaker is head-head. If they have not played each other than they look at common opponents and the record vs. those teams.
Mounties Fan-the way I read it,thats not going to happen. As has been stated on here-it is based on 3 key criteria but Josh keeps saying strength of schedule and then you have the wildcard that if Arlington,Suffern, and Ossining all end up 14-6-it will go to committe-and who is on the committe but Ossining coach Mr dan Ricci(in my opinion he should remove himself from the equation regarding the tiebreaker and let the others on the committe decide who wins the tiebreaker!) Mr Mountie Hoops(and no sorry to burst anyones bubble I am not the varsity coach, asst varsity coach or the JV coach(or AD of Suffern)-just a mounties hoop fan & supporter-but Josh knows who I am as we have spoken)
Now that Carmel beat Mahopac twice, JJEF twice, split with Arlinton and lost to Scarsdale in OT that the 5th or 6th seed is sowed up. What do you think? (ps, all starters and role players return next year)
Any new news on tiebreakers?
