The game will get underway in about an hour, but I just wanted to set the stage.
The teams met once this season, on Dec. 23, and Hamilton won 56-35 at Haldane, going up big in the first quarter 21-2.
One thing to watch obviously is Shereen Lightbourne and how she fares on her balky ankle. The Hamilton senior is the best player on the court when healthy, but how healthy is she?
Anyway, Matt Ng will blog during the game. You can listen to me call the action on Mogulus at www.LoHud.com/vcsports1.
Here are the starters:

can not believe that Haldane won it again. that is incredible. congratulations to haldane u really deserve this one and really worked for it. no one gave you any chance after brittany shields left last year but you still found a way to get your gold ball. congrats.
trivia question: does anyone remember who was the only team to knock off haldane in the county center in the past 16 years? and who was the MVP?
(im not giving out CC tickets but this is just for fun)
IN NEED OF SOME NEW GUARDS WITH TEAM WORK FOR NEXT YEAR
Congrats to the Haldane Girls Basketball Team on taking home another Gold Ball for Class “C”.. Sometimes is better to be the underdog!
Blind Brook / Karlyn Adler
Haldane was out coached by the “Great Manny Martinez.”
Slum Dog-
you win the grand prize of…..nothing!
Haha good job though.
and good call on the quotes around the “Great manny martinez”
Hamilton missed way too many foul shots.
Except for Lightbourn she didn’t miss any foul shots because she didn’t get any. Strange! Not to get on the Ref’s but someone kept yellin at one official for making too many calls and after following him he was correct. He was making 75% of foul calls on both teams. Or so it seemed.
Haldane great job
Congratulations to Haldane. It was a game that you wish there could be two winners. Both played very hard! Good luck in what is to come.
Great game ladies—knocking off the 1 and 2 seed on the way to yet another title (19 out of the last 21 Section 1 titles going back to 88-89)!
Continue to play with confidence and let your talent carry you all the way!
Josh Thompson – Millbrook & Ken Thomas…..you cannot out fox a Fox!
Plumber,
Haldane lost to Haldane’s former Coach “Hall of Fame” Ken Thomas / Millbrook in the regional game not the sectionals.
Blind Brook / “Manny Martinez” with Adler being the MVP is the correct answer!
Hamilton was loaded this year with Lightbourne, London, and the younger crew of Hood and Kennedy. They should have won this year, that’s why their coach kept running the score uo on every team he faced. Haskins is a solid coach and Haldane peaked at the right time just like they do every year. I hope the Hamilton coaches learn their lesson, don’t run up the score on weaker teams, instead play your bench players and earn them some important experience for the post-season.
Remember, what goes around comes around. Lightbourne is a solid high school player, not a D1 player, but solid nontheless. Her Dad, however, needs to get a reality check and realize its not all about him and his kids, we have other players at Hamilton that can ball too. Good Luck to Haldane, may you win states again this year.
Trivia Question:
Who is the only person that can stop Haldane from winning a Class C Championship?
The Poo POO Bandit
