Federation links

March
30

Before I get to the links, a quick note about Nanuet’s parade: A date and time have NOT yet been scheduled. The school originally wanted to include the team in Saturday’s parade to kick off the Nanuet Little League season, but several players are scheduled to take the ACT Saturday morning. … I will let you know when and where the parade is scheduled.

On to the links…

If you missed our coverage of Nanuet this weekend, it was extensive. Here’s a look:

FRIDAY’S SEMIFINALS: Nanuet 50, Mount Mercy 45
Game story — Nanuet almost squandered a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter but woke up late to beat Mount Mercy, thanks, in part, to another big shot by Christine Brezovsky. I think the Golden Knights knew they got away with a flat effort, and it led to a great performance in the final.
Column — Rick Carpiniello wrote about how tough it is to get going in the Federation.

SATURDAY’S FINAL: Nanuet 60, Long Island Lutheran 45
Game story — Nanuet played excellent ball, steadily pulling away from Long Island Lutheran behind 21 points and 19 boards from MVP K.C. Jentzen. The Golden Knights got a little more sleep Friday night, and it helped them craft a positive ending to a long, fruitful season.
News story — Nanuet became the first public school from Rockland to win a Federation title. The parents and fans cheered them Sunday, but this team will be celebrated for some time to come.
Column — Carp wrote about how simple hustle took Nanuet a long way this season.
All-time Federation champs — Here’s a list of all the Federation champs from the area.

  1. Hey

    Josh,
Is there going to be an exceptional seniors game for girls? When? Where?

  2. Josh Thomson

I don’t believe there is going to be an exceptional seniors game. There hasn’t been one in recent years because it can’t be played after the season ends. The section has had trouble finding a time for it to be played within the time frame allowed.
