Who couldnt see this one coming???????

  2. interesting

I find it very sad. Hopefully it will work out for her.

  3. Coach

not a big surprise. her HS coach let her believe the earth revolved around her, and that dont fly at a place like Kentucky.

  4. PlayD

Anybody know what the violation was?

  5. runon

My daughter is a pretty good BB player and her coach treats her like gargage. She can never make a mistake because he will take her head off. If she lives through him she can survive anything. I know of one other player that recieved a D-1 scholarship and she won’t survive the week because of her attitude. I will check back when the time comes. How the coaches don’t see it coming is shocking to me.

Just what does a top recruit have to do to get thrown out of a program before the school year even starts? “Missed a team photo” sounds like she went down there in full party animal/ prima donna mode and blew it out.

Give the favorable coverage this player received for years up here, it would be important for young kids to know just what went on.

  7. Not Suprising...

Just goes to show that talent can get you in the door, her Uncle was quoted today saying that ”...WoodlandsH.S did everyhting they could to make Porsha’s college experinece successful.”If that is the case shame on Woodlands, the handful of times I saw her play, she showed she had the talent, she berated teammates opponents and officials. At Kentucky she had demands placed on her , from what I have heard she had her own set of rules at Woodlands. Didn’t she also have a falling out with the Empire State teams staff last summer. Hopefully she can regroup and find an appropriate program. HEr support system let her down by putting her in deep end of the pool before knowing she could swim. A d-1 scholarship is not all about basketball, its also about being held to a higher standard and greater level of responsiblity.

what a joke!!!!! she really screwed up

damn portia. another thing to give the people of westchester who always have some shit to say another thing to talk about. Nobody knows what happened but im sure if it was another player from section 1 it really wouldn’t have these kind of comments. What a disgrace, maybe ppl from section 1 should come together to be better coaches & parents so this doesnt happen to your kids. But to praise her 5 months ago and now to play her out.. dead wrong. What a county full of phony ppl.

Dont say its a disgrace. People may be harsh on her but with her track record, rightfully so. She got into it with empire and aau coaches before. She plain and simple has a bad attitude. Being a college basketball player in any division is about mentality and attitude just as much as talent. Bottom line, she obviously didnt handle herself in the manner that she should have. She didnt have what it took to make it (mentally not a comment on her talent). Whether it was her attitude towards her coach or another player, or an action she took that violated team rules, it was obvious that she was in the wrong state of mind. Its a shame, but only some are cut out for college bball.

I can see her transfering to a school like Rutgers because Vivian C Stringer always works with girls that are a work in porgress and she makes them stars example kia vaughn. Porsha going to be a dominant college -player no matter where she plays

  12. PlayD

Hopefully she will learn from this mistake.

  13. sect1

She’s a great player, give the kid a break. Sometimes we forget they are kids. Maybe Kentucky just wasn’t the place for her and hopefully she finds that place. It’s such a shame that section 1 has so many haters. We should be rooting for our girls and hoping the best. Good luck Porsha, hopefully you find a school that’s a good basketball and academic fit for you.

  14. HS FOOTBALL

Porsha will never play big time Division I ball, and to say RUTGERS?? no way is she good enough to play at Rutgers.

Put her at a small Division I like Iona/Manhattan.

This has nothing to do with Haters, but more to do with someone who BLEW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. bballer

I hear that. She doesnt have what it takes. She couldnt/wouldnt play at a Rutgers. Kentucky was the highest level she could go and yes, she blew it. With this incident though, you can only wonder who will pick her up. Attitude is just as important as talent at the college level.

Funny how you shit on Kentucky & Portia. So sad. 5 months ago it was Tori Jaroz & Portia are going to SEC the toughest conference blah blah etc. now its Portia is only good enough for a Iona kinda school? please..most girls in section 1 wish they could have iona as a choice. please stop the foolishness.. she is just a child.. maybe kentucky wasn’t the place for her. but she will do great in college.

  17. bobobo

i totally think she can play at a big east school defiently she was geting recruited by rutgers for a while during highschool

  18. runon

It’s all about what you’re taught. If you are taught from parents, coaches and teachers that you can walk around thinking you have some entitlement then when you are introduced to a world of full of talent you have to know where your place is. Everyone has to earn their place and do so with integrity and grace.

  19. Manny

Postell obviously has skills, but Woodlands HS and the Woodlands coach obviously did NOT do a good job of preparing her for the world.

It is sad to see a talented kid blow a big opportunity by being immature. Fortunately for her, someone else will take a chance. We can only hope she learns something from this experience.

  20. balllleer

    BoBoBo,

I’m sorry to inform you but Rutgers is a contender for the national championship every year. Saying that Porsha could not play with the teams of the UConn or Louisville she just doesn’t have the attitude or the mindset of being a team player. And don’t always blame it on the coach she may have had her hands tied with the administration you never know

  21. Don

Porsha I don’t think any of us know what happened and to tell you the truth I don’t really care. What I care about is you and that you are alright and know that the people that love you will always love you and will do whatever we can to help you out. Just say the word and we are there. I wish you all the best. Coach Don

  22. MOMMYONE

    POOR PORSHA,

WHAT THE HELL ? THIS IS A KID WITH AN ATTITUDE, TOWARDS
OPPONENTS, COACHES AND TEAMMATES, HER GAME SUCKS SHE BELONGS ON AN OUTDOOR COURT PLAYING BBALL, SHE NEVER SHOULD HAVE EVEN BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY FOR KENTUCKY,
MAYBE NOW SHE WILL REALIZE ” SHE AINT ALL THAT!!!!!”

  23. fan

Wondering what Porsha is doing now? Is she in school somewhere? I really hope that she has been productive and wish her the best!!

  24. HIGH TOPS

FAN , I SEE PORSHA IS PLAYING 4 WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE ALONG WITH HER OLD HIGH SCHOOL TEAMMATE TILFORD.
